This most challenging of paintings, took the longest time of any I have done so far. I started with a wash of sienna and ochre, mapping out the picture with a with a little umber mixed into that. I added to the muted gray sky to form mountains. Alternating yellow tree lines with pale sienna rocks defined distance. I added greens and blues of firs and water, then a dark foreground to highlight the powerhouse.
